The Movement for the Actualization of
Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has warned the federal government
not to take its non-violent posture for granted.
The group asked the federal government to cooperate with its leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, for peace to reign in the South East and the entire country, Daily Sun reports.
The Abia South zonal leaders of MASSOB, comprising Larry Odinma, Fred Onyenucheya, Okpori Nkama and Enyinnaya Akunnaya warned that enough was enough.
They advised the federal government, through its security agencies to stop harassing Uwazuruike because he has been the one calming them down.
“The Federal Government should have cooperated with our leader, Uwazuruike, because he is the one holding Igbo youths back, whenever they want to cause any trouble.

“When other militia groups in the country were spoiling for war, Uwazuruike was calling for peace through his non-violent approach and of course, the police should not take this for granted,” the group said.
The movement said they would be holding a thanksgiving service in Aba on Sunday, to mark their 16th anniversary and have warned the police against disrupting it.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, has ordered his men to clampdown on MASSOB or any other group inciting violence in the country.
